- Think about having foundation vents installed. That way, if water comes directly at your house, the water can flow through your foundation. Without the vents, water can stop in your foundation and rise up through the floors.
- Dry proof your foundation and basement with sealing materials. This is probably best done by a professional, but if your house is prone to flooding, it will be worth it.
- Talk with a landscaper about retaining walls. You can build attractive retaining walls to keep water away from your house and have it flow away from your property.
